‘Trillium Lake’ - Midnight. Astrophotography by Peter Zelinka. (Hope it’s OK to share Peter!)
Well dear reader, this is a little bit of an unusual post. You may, or may not, believe in dreams with meaning. I do. And while I have many completely absurd dreams, I always know when something powerful comes to me in my sleep.
I’ve heard that people hate hearing about other people’s dreams, but oh well… it’s up to you to read on, or move on. No judgements here. :)
Last night’s dream was incredible. It’s hard to describe. But I am deeply spiritual, and this one was special.
I saw flowers blooming, but they were made of stars and projected against a midnight sky while my toes were dipped in an icy lake and music swirled around me. There were others gathered with me. But it didn’t matter who they were, just that we saw what we saw. We didn’t speak, but I could feel the energetic connection between us. I don’t know where the music came from; I haven’t heard anything like it. And, here’s where it gets interesting. I realised this morning that what I saw in the dream was the Fibonacci sequence (first written in 6th century India), and the ‘sky story’ was all about creation and connection. Although I have heard of the Fibonacci sequence before, I don’t recall learning about it. It blew my mind.
The dream ended in such a funny way. After leaving this mindblowing star display, I got told off for being late to some sort of meaningless occasion. And I just laughed and said, “I just witnessed the meaning of life, and you think I care about THIS!?’ It was brilliant.
Anyway, here’s the poem. It’s called I Dreamed of Flowers because it is what it is.
I Dreamed of Flowers
I dreamed of flowers
Unfurling in slow motion
The golden ratio of growth.
I sat beside the lake
Feeling small beneath
The expanse of midnight sky,
With my feet baptised
By the icy water below.
And I gazed above me - in awe
Of its starry display
As the universe unfolded in front of me.
All its meaning.
All its purpose.
All love.
And I wept
Because it was the most beautiful thing
I had ever seen.
And I wondered why
I was only just learning
That nothing else mattered.
Have this video for your viewing pleasure. Oh my heart, the dahlias… Mother Nature is a goddess. Try to imagine them made of stars, and you’ll get a sense of the beauty of what my brain sent me in my sleep. Sweet dreams. ❤
